The Nidek ARK-530A autorefractokeratometer offers fast and accurate refraction measurements, covering a wide range of patients, including those with high refractive errors. Thanks to its advanced technology, it measures refraction through pupils as small as 2 mm, providing exceptional versatility. The ARK-530A features a 5.7-inch tilting color LCD screen, facilitating 3D alignment and automatic measurement.

This device combines two new measurement methods – the Pupillary Area Detection Method and SLD (Super Luminescent Diode) technology. These innovations allow for unparalleled precision and reliability in objective refraction measurement.

The Pupillary Area Detection Method analyzes a larger area (max. Ø 4 mm), providing more reliable, realistic data that closely reflects manifest refraction. Equipped with an SLD and a sensitive CCD sensor, the ARK-530A improves measurement quality with a sharper, higher-contrast image compared to a conventional LED. This ensures enhanced measurement capabilities, even under conditions of transparency in the media traversed (cataracts, IOL) and variations in ambient light.

In addition to measuring refraction, the ARK-530A offers fast and reliable keratometry measurements, using a Placido target for central measurement and peripheral measurements at the four cardinal points. The wide measurement range of -30 to +25 D expands the patient base, including those with high refractive errors. The limit of measurable pupillary diameter has been increased to 2 mm, allowing measurement through smaller pupils.

The unit streamlines workflow with 3D alignment, autofocus, and automated measurements, offering significant time savings while ensuring optimal reliability. The 5.7-inch tilting color LCD screen displays patient eye data and images in a user-friendly manner, enhancing ease of use and the reliability of results.
